Beeswax Food Wraps
Beeswax Food Wraps
Beeswax food wraps are an eco friendly and reusable alternative to clingfilm and food bags. They are used to wrap most food items with the exception of wet items such as fresh meat or fresh fish.
They are ideal for naturally preserving bread, cheese, fruits, and vegetable, packed lunches, snacks. Please see the picture further down to demonstate how well my beeswax food wraps preserve a fresh carrot.
They can also be used for wrapping, covering bowls, jugs, plates, and bowls. Youtube has lots of videos demonstrating ways of folding wraps into pouches for various types of food.
The beeswax food wraps that I make are made from all natural products: 100% cotton fabric, beeswax, pine resin, and jojoba oil.
Beeswax is an excellent natural sealant. Pine resin provides additional antibacterial and stickiness properties. And jojoba oil makes the cloth more malleable for wrapping.
My food wraps come in seven different practical sizes ranging from 20cm square up to 50 cm square. Take a look at the pictures in the shop to see example pictures of which size is appropriate for different food items.
These food wraps are resuable and can be washed and refreshed, and if cared for correctly, can last up to a year. Instructions on how to easily wash and refresh your wraps are given inside each packet.
Every wrap comes packaged in eco-friendly card packet with an A4 sheet of information and care instructions. The package can also be used for storage when the wrap is not in use.
They are fully biodegradeable, so when they have reached their end, they can be disposed of in the compost bin.
The prices of my all natural beeswax food wraps are comparable with same size wraps of the cheapest variety available on Ebay.
My mission is for as many people as possible to be able to access this fabulous eco-friendly alternative and thus reduce our use of nasty plastic and help preserve our beautiful planet.
